1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing, accessing, or using the Mosaic browser extension ("the Extension," "Mosaic," or "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Extension.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and Mosaic ("we," "us," or "our") regarding your use of the Extension and our services.

2. Description of Service

2.1 Core Functionality

Mosaic is a browser extension that provides:

  • Window and tab management features
  • Layout organization tools
  • Focus enhancement effects
  • Customizable visual settings

2.2 Service Tiers

  • Free Version: 4 basic layouts (Single, Side by Side, Top & Bottom, Quad View) with limited customization and spotlight focus with default settings
  • Pro Version: All 8 layouts including premium layouts (Triple Wide, Triple Stack, Golden Left, Golden Right) with full customization and advanced features
  • Trial: 7-day free trial of Pro features

3. Subscription Service

3.1 Subscription Plans

  • Monthly Plan: $5.99/month, billed monthly
  • Yearly Plan: $59.99/year, billed annually
  • Free Trial: 7 days at no cost, auto-converts to paid plan

3.2 Billing Terms

  • All fees are in USD and exclude applicable taxes
  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled
  • Payment processed via Stripe payment processor
  • Pro features activate immediately upon payment confirmation

3.3 Free Trial

  • New users eligible for one 7-day free trial
  • Trial begins upon payment method verification
  • Cancel anytime during trial to avoid charges
  • Auto-converts to selected paid plan if not cancelled

4. Cancellation and Refunds

4.1 Cancellation Rights

  • Cancel subscription anytime via Stripe Customer Portal
  • Cancellation effective at end of current billing period
  • Pro features remain active until period expires
  • No partial refunds for unused portions of billing periods

4.2 Refund Policy

  • Free trial cancellations: No charges applied
  • No refunds for subscription fees except as required by law
  • Refund requests considered for technical issues preventing service use
  • Contact support for exceptional circumstances

5. User Obligations

5.1 Permitted Use

You may use Mosaic for:

  • Personal productivity and organization
  • Managing browser windows and tabs
  • Customizing your browsing experience

5.2 Prohibited Activities

You may NOT:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the Extension
  • Use the service for illegal or unauthorized purposes
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers
  • Share subscription credentials with others
  • Attempt to bypass payment or subscription verification
  • Use automated tools to interact with the service

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Our Rights

  • Mosaic Extension and all related content are our property
  • Protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws
  • No license granted except as explicitly stated in these Terms

6.2 Your Rights

  • Personal, non-commercial use license during active subscription
  • License automatically terminates upon subscription cancellation
  • You retain ownership of your personal data and settings

7. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference into these Terms.

8. Service Availability

8.1 Uptime and Maintenance

  • We strive for 99.9% service availability
  • Planned maintenance will be communicated in advance
  • Emergency maintenance may occur without notice
  • No guarantees of uninterrupted service availability

8.2 Browser Compatibility

  • Designed for Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, etc.)
  • Compatibility with future browser versions not guaranteed
  • May require updates for continued functionality

  • Material changes communicated via extension updates or email
  • Continued use constitutes acceptance of updates

  • We reserve the right to modify these Terms
  • Material changes will be posted with 30 days notice
  • Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance

10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

10.1 Service Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
  • NON-INFRINGEMENT OR SECURITY
  • UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION
  • ACCURACY OR COMPLETENESS OF CONTENT

10.2 Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • This includes loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
  • Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

14. Subscription-Specific Terms

Auto-Renewal Notice

IMPORTANT: Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period using your stored payment method. You will be charged the then-current subscription fee. To avoid charges, you must cancel before your next billing date through the Stripe Customer Portal accessible via the Extension.

Trial Conversion Notice

FREE TRIAL USERS: Your trial will automatically convert to a paid subscription using your provided payment method unless you cancel during the trial period. You can cancel anytime through the Stripe Customer Portal.

By using Mosaic, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
